NLN2015summit_logoThe National League for Nursing (NLN) recently announced that it has chosen 12 schools of nursing as Centers of Excellence (COE). In addition, 11 of these new COEs earned recognition in the category of Creating Environments that Enhance Student Learning and Professional Development. NLN president Marsha Howell Adams, PhD, RN, CNE, FAAN, ANEF, professor and dean of the college of Nursing of Alabama in Huntsville said that,

“I look forward to acknowledging the 2015 COE designees in Las Vegas, celebrating their contributions to excellence in nursing education and the key role that faculty, deans, and healthcare professionals play in achieving this coveted status.”

According to the NLN, in order to be recognized as a COE institution, the school must:

  • Embody and exhibit the NLN’s core values of excellence, integrity, diversity, and caring
  • Be an example for all other nursing programs
  • Show in measurable form their commitment to excellence in faculty development, nursing education research or student learning and professional development

The 12 schools will be recognized at a banquet on October 2, 2015 during the NLN Education Summit 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. Jones & Bartlett Learning is a proud sponsor of NLN’s annual Education Summit. This year, we will not only be exhibiting in Booth #509, but will also host a meet and greet and book signing with Susan Sienkiewicz, MA, RN, and Jennifer Palmunen, MSN, RN, authors of Clinical Nursing Calculations, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 12-2pm.

We hope to see you there.
